Enoch Richard Arkaifie is a holder of an Executive Master in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon. He started his tertiary education at the University of Cape Coast and obtained BA (Hons) Economics Degree and Diploma in Education.
Mr. Arkaifie has thirty-two years of experience in banking with over fifteen years in credit risk management. He started his banking career at the Social Security Bank now Societe Generale (Ghana) from 1983 to 2002 and joined the ARB Apex Bank PLC from 2004 to 2018.
He was appointed at the ARB Apex Bank as the Head of the Efficiency Monitoring Unit. Among other responsibilities, he was tasked with producing quarterly financial reports on the performance of Rural and Community Banks (RCBs) in Ghana. At the ARB Apex Bank, he was appointed the Credit Manager with the overall responsibility of analysing and assessing credit requests from the RCBs. Enoch was also appointed the Deputy Head of Projects and Credit Department and Acting Head of, the Risk and Credit Management Department. As part of his key responsibilities, he was in charge of all intervention funds that were managed by the ARB Apex Bank. Above all, he was the key facilitator for all credit risk management training programmes provided to the RCBs by the ARB Apex Bank. His career at the ARB Apex Bank exposed him immensely to rural banking operations in Ghana.
Mr. Arkaifie represented the ARB Apex Bank on the boards of three RCBs and the Ghana Microfinance Institutions Network (GHAMFIN) in Ghana. He also represented the ARB Apex Bank on the Implementation Committee of the Ghana Deposit Protection Scheme at the Bank of Ghana and the Steering Committee of the Rural Enterprises Programme at the Ministry of Trade and Industries. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) – Ghana and has attended several courses, conferences, and seminars in Ghana and abroad.
Whilst at the ARB Apex Bank PLC, Enoch achieved the following until he retired from the services of the Bank in December 2018:
- Supported resuscitation of an ailing rural bank in the Eastern Region of the Republic of Ghana
- Supported and developed an operational manual for Solar PV Home Systems Project for selected RCBs
- Assisted in achieving the project objectives under the credit component of the Ghana Energy Development and Access Project (GEDAP) implemented by the Apex Bank and selected RCBs
- Played a key role in providing long-term on-lending funds from the Danish Government to some RCBs
- Developed ‘Credit Operational Manual’ for RCBs
Mr. Arkaifie is currently a board member of the Dumpong Rural Bank PLC located at Asakraka in the Eastern Region of the Republic of Ghana.
